Gunmen Attack Gov. Uzodinma’s Residence In Imo

Unidentified gunmen have on Saturday attacked the country home of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma in Omuma town, killing two security men. The Commissioner of Information in the State, Declan Emelumba confirmed the attack on the governor’s hometown residence in Orlu LGA, adding that the hoodlums torched parts of the house and also set official vehicles ablaze.


“It is not true that several security men lost their lives. About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack,” Emelumba said.


Vigil360 reports that in recent times similar attacks have been carried out on government infrastructures like Police headquarters in some southeastern states of the country.


Also security personnel including personnel of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), personnel of the Nigerian Navy and Police as well as breaking into prisons and setting inmates free.
