Kuje Prison Attack: President Buhari Visits Facility

President Muhammadu Buhari visited the scene of the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre; where unknown assailants attacked the facility on Tuesday night releasing numerous dangerous criminals including Boko Haram inmates. The President visited to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the facility and was also briefed on details of the raid by officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).


The facility which is located in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was attacked by an unknown number of heavily armed assailants around 1000pm on Tuesday night.

Officials of the NCS and other security agencies have reportedly captured most of the escaped fugitives but are still searching for others.
