2020 UTME: Candidates Must Have NIN Number To Register

Prospective candidates for admission into Nigeria's higher institutions would now have to register with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) as the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JMB) has disclosed it resolved not to register candidates who do not have the National Identity Number(NIN) for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The board warns that only intending candidates who have the NIN will be registered, beginning with the 2020 examination year.

The disclosure is contained in a series of tweets on its verified Twitter handle @JAMBHQ on Thursday, October 2019.

“All candidates wishing to take the 2020 UTME must have the National Identification Number (NIN).

Prospective candidates are urged to visit the nearest @nimc_ng office for their capturing.

It further stressed in the tweet that the Board would ONLY register candidates with NIN.

It also warns against unauthorized financial transactions with its staff members.

The warning reads: “Please be informed that the Board frowns on any form of financial dealings between candidates and staff.

All payments on JAMB services are made directly to the Board’s TSA.

Also, JAMB added that candidates involved in any financial transaction with a staff of the Board should notify the Board immediately and also provide any useful information about such staff for necessary action.
