Traditional Ruler Kidnapped By Gunmen In Niger State

Hoodlums suspected to be bandits have whisked away another traditional ruler in Niger State on Saturday night the victim Dr. Mahmud Ahmed Aliyu happens to be the district head of the Wawa community in Borgu Kingdom.

The incident took place at about 9:30 pm Saturday night in Dr. Aliyu's palace as disclosed by the eyewitness, who claimed the gunmen stormed the monarch's private dressed in military uniforms parading on motorcycles.

” They arrived on motorcycles at 10 pm yesterday and shooting into the air that threw the whole palace and the area into a panic. They left with our ruler and presently, nothing has been heard on his whereabouts,” the source stated.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO DSP Wasiu Abidun has confirmed the incident noting the Police tactical team has been dispatched to apprehend the hoodlums.
