The Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II has been appointed as one of the new advocates for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). United Nations (UN) Secretary General, António Guterres made the revelation in a statement issued on Thursday in New York.

Reactions have trailed the coronation of one Mr Mike Zhang a Chinese trader in Kano state, North West Nigeria. The Emir of Kano, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II had recently approved the appointment and instalment of Zhang, as a chief and leader of the growing Chinese community in the northern Nigerian state.

Buhari Welcomes Emir of Qatar Today

President Muhammadu Buhari will today, 23rd April 2019 receive the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Presidential aide, Garba Shehu confirmed the visit of the oil-rich country’s emir. The emir is coming three years after President Buhari visited Doha, the Qatari capital in February 2016, where he attended a meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
