President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding a closed-door meeting with State Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State House, Abuja. The agenda of the meeting which started this afternoon was not made public by the Presidency. However a source in the Presidential Villa said issues to be discussed include the controversial tenure elongation of the party's National Executive Committee and the President's reelection bid.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has admonished Christians to emulate Jesus Christ and strive to live according to His teachings. Dr. Saraki made the call in Abuja on Thursday in his Easter message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusph Olaniyonu. He admonished Nigerians to continue to work for the sustenance of peace and unity of the country.

Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the United Nations, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, has called for the revival of the 1965 Grazing Reserve Law as a solution to the incessant herdsmen-farmers clashes. According to him, the Law can be revived based on section 315 of the 1999 constitution in the 19 northern states.

The Presidency has warned Nigerians to be wary of the recent apology by the Peoples Democratic Party, as the move could be borne out of desperation to return to power. The Presidency in a statement issued on Friday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu described the apology as 'less-than-honest apology stressing that the party had huge moral duties going by the apology if it must be taken seriously.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja on Wednesday ordered the senator representing Abia South in the Senate, Enyinnaya Abaribe, and two others to produce the missing leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in court on June 26. Kanu, who has pending charges of treasonable felony against him before the court, has not been seen since September 22, 2017.

Someone should please tell Reno Omokri, an ex-aide to an ex-president that no amount of malicious outburst on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo can shrink the respect Nigerians have for a man who is touted as one of the most venerated public office holders in the chequered history of Nigeria’s democracy.
