President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday addressed the recently released Dapchi schoolgirls earlier abducted by members of Boko Haram sect. The President who received the girls at the State House said investigation was ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the incident. He vowed to deal decisively with security chief if any abduction occurs again.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it may declare former Governor of Plateau, Sen. Jonah Jang, wanted for refusing to honour its invitations. Indication to this was given by Spokesperson of the commission, Mrs Rasheedat Okoduwa, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Following President Muhammadu Buhari's decision to withhold assent to the Amended Electoral Bill that sought to reorder the sequence of the 2019 general elections, the House of Representatives on Wednesday reintroduced the controversial Bill for first reading. The move was in accordance to its earlier resolve to delete some sections of the Bill, debate, pass and then return it to the President for eventual assent.

The National Chairman and Presidential aspirant under the platform of the National Action Council (NAC), Olapade Agoro on Friday said former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the main political problem of Nigeria, contrary to other opinions being spread on the media. He stated this while addressing a press conference at his Apata, lbadan residence.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mba Ekpezu Ukweni has said contrary to reports issued by the Federal Government that Dapchi Schoolgirls were released unconditionally by Boko Haram, the Buhari administration paid heavy ransom before the abducted girls were released. Ukweni in a phone conversation with Dailypost on Thursday regretted that the federal government was very economical with the truth over the release of the abducted girls.

The Federal Government on Wednesday lamented that most Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) are carrying out procurement without transparency and accountability. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation stated this in a circular dated March 19 and made available to newsmen in Abuja.
