Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio has said some compromised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were colluding with Governor Udom Emmanuel to rig the forthcoming elections in the state.

Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on Monday described as false an online report that he had advised President Muhammadu Buhari to step down over alleged incompetence. According to Dailytrust, Babangida, in a statement from his Media Office, said he had no social media account and could not have turned to same to air his views on the state of affairs in the country.

Following widespread disillusion that greeted the postponement of the general election by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has appealed to Nigerians not to develop cold feet but to troop out and cast their votes on Saturday.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has told the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States to solve numerous challenges facing them and leave Nigeria to handle her own internal matters. According to Dailypost, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena made the call on Monday while addressing newsmen in Abuja.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said it will reopen its presidential and National Assembly campaigns today despite warnings from the National Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu that no party should engage in further campaigns.
