The Nigerian Police on Thursday arraigned the Senator representing Kogi West in the Nigerian Senate, Dino Melaye in a Magistrate Court in Abuja. According to Vanguard, the Senator who is currently receiving medical attention at the National Hospital was brought in on a stretcher by police officers who prevented journalists from coming closer to him or to interview him.
The development is coming after a newspaper reported that the Police had made arrangement to forcefully take Dino to Kogi via Helicopter for arraignment.
Meanwhile, doctors at the hospital had advised against the arraignment stressing that the Senator was not fit for such exercise.
Recall that Melaye was accused of collaborating with suspects arrested for kidnapping, illegal possession of arms and political thuggery in Kogi state.
Melaye in a statement denied his involvement and called international bodies to assists in the investigation.
