The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria has alleged that the current Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa is a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

HURIWA alleged in a statement on Thursday, that the Minister was mobilized this year and got posted to a law firm in Abuja before her appointment. This comes after she had abandoned her NYSC in Ebonyi State years back.

The group urged NYSC to compel Musawa to focus on either her Youth Service or the ministerial appointment.

HURIWA blamed the Department of State Services over the screening conducted that couldn’t discover that the Minister is a corps member but later sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Minister.

The Director of Press and Public Relations at the NYSC Headquarters, Eddy Megwa confirmed the development, “Yes she is a serving corps member”.
