The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has disclosed that the 2019 general election results will also be announced electronically after physical result sheets have been given to party agents.

Some Senators and the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Services (NCS) on Monday clashed at the headquarters of NCS over perceived breach of protocol. An altercation ensued when a Senate Committee chaired by Senator Dino Melaye and mandated to investigate alleged wastages by Customs complained that the Comptroller of Customs, Col. Hammeed Ali (rtd) failed to receive them personally, stressing that his action was in breach of protocol.

The body of the former Vice-President Alex Ekwueme on Monday left Abuja for the South East where it will finally be laid to rest at the weekend.

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria after spending about four days meeting with African leaders at the just concluded African Union Summit which held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Buhari joined 14 other members of the Peace and Security Council (PSC), a standing organ of the AU for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts While at the summit.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday said it would obey any timely and legitimate amendment to Electoral Act.

A National Commissioner in the commission, Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu, stated this in Abuja, at the backdrop of the proposed amendment to the Act by the House of Representatives with regard to the order of 2019 general elections.

The lawmakers began the amendment process on Tuesday, barely two weeks after INEC released time-table for the elections.
