Ahead of the 2019 general elections, 9 new political parties on Monday joined the existing 46 parties in the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP. The leadership of the new political parties signed a memorandum of Understanding with the CUPP at the Shehu Musa Yaradua Centre in Abuja.

The platforms received by the chairman of the CUPP Steering Committee, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, pledged their support and commitment to ensuring that the consensus candidate, Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, defeats the incumbent Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC.


The parties that signed the memorandum today include: Alliance National Party (ANP), United Patriot (UP), Save Nigeria Congress (SNC), Peoples Coalition Party (PCP), Reform and Advancement Party (RAP), Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD), We The People of Nigeria (WTPN), Change Party (CP) and New Generation Party (NGP).
