Barring last minute changes, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will today, sign the 2017 budget at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The long awaited signing of the budget was disclosed by Bamikole Omisore, the Special Adviser (New Media) to Senate President.

In a tweet, Omisore said the Acting President will be joined by the Senate President by 3.00pm at Aso Rock, for the most anticipated event.

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, had on Friday, at the 2nd anniversary of the 8th House assured that the budget will be signed early next week.

In his address at a special session to mark the anniversary, the Speaker said “on issue of budget, we kept our promise to Nigerians at the beginning of the legislative session to ensure transparent deliberation and passage of the 2017 Appropriations Bill, which will be signed into law early next week.”

The N7.44 trillion budget was passed on May 11 but the signing has lingered after the Presidency sought to resolve certain grey areas in the appropriated figures.

Days of protracted deliberations between the Presidency and leadership of the National Assembly has now obviously ended in some agreement.

Vigil360 sources confirm that both Senate President and Speaker are set for the event and are well on their way to the Presidential Villa as at the time of filling this report.
