Atletico Madrid Manager, Diego Simeone has disclosed that Chelsea outcast, Diego Costa would return to Atletico Madrid in January after the club serve out subsisting transfer ban slammed on it by UEFA. Simeone gave the hint on Monday ahead of the Pre-season Audi Cup tournament in Germany. According to him "All the players want to stay; they want to achieve even better goals and get even better"
On Diego Costa he said "Diego Costa? If he comes in January... we can't say anything about that yet. I won't speak about him now. He is a player of Chelsea. We will talk about the boys who are here now, because we have a late start to the season. That is what is important."
Costa had joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2014 after his buy-out clause reported to be in the region of £32m was met. He scored 52 goals in 89 appearances and assisted the Blues to win their second EPL title in three seasons.
The Spanish international was declared surplus by Antonio Conte ahead of next season.
