Instagram Hides Like Counts From Users To Promote Mental Health

Facebook’s Instagram has once again silently removed the likes from users posts in six additional international countries, as a continuation of the international test to remove pressure on users.
Earlier in May, Instagram commenced an international test aimed at reducing pressure on users in Canada. However, the test has been rolled out again in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Brazil, Italy, and Japan.
Instagram users in these countries now see “liked by” a user name “and others” on a post but are able to view the number of likes on their posts.

New NBC Code To Tackle Fake News And Hate-Speech Menace

The Director-General (DG) of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mallam Isaq Modibbo Kawu, revealed that NBC would be launching its "New Broadcasting Code" billed for launch tomorrow, 4th July 2019 in Kano. The new code will reposition the Nigerian broadcasting landscape and address the preponderance of hate speech and fake news that characterize the industry.

N3.133trn Lost Annually to Cyber-Crime In Nigeria — NITDA DG

The National Information Technology Development Agency(NITDA), disclosed that Nigeria loses about N3.133 trillion to cybercrime and foreign software annually. Dr Isa Aliyu Ibrahim Pantami, Director General of the Agency disclosed this on 18th June 2019 at a stakeholders engagement on Nigerian Software Testing Guidance (NSTG) and the Guidelines for Information Systems Audit (GITA) in Abuja.
