The Katsina State Government has joined the Zamfara, and the Kaduna State to lift the ban it placed on Telcom services due to activities of bandits within the state and has ordered the immediate restoration of services in some Local Government Areas (LGAs). This was disclosed by Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina, Special Adviser to Gov. Aminu Masari on Security Matters.
According to the statement issued by another state representative, Alhaji Abdu Labaran, Director-General Media to Gov. Aminu Masari, on Friday, “Gov. Masari has written to the Nigerian Telecommunications Commission (NCC), requesting it to restore telephone services in ten of the 17 LGAs affected by the ban, which came into force about four months ago.
“The affected 10 LGAs are: Kurfi, Dutsinma, Matazu, Musawa, Malumfashi, Dandume, Bakori, Funtua, Kafur and Danja.
“Those not affected by the planned restoration of the services are Faskari, Sabuwa, Batsari, Safana, Kankara, Danmusa and Jibia.”
The state government added that the plan to resume telecoms operations in the affected areas is due to relative peace and normalcy returning to the areas.
