Nigerian Rappers, Olamide, and Lil Kesh have been on the headlines of recent over the release of new song Logo Benz. The rappers have been strongly criticized by some fans on social media for promoting youth violence and money ritual.
The song’s hook which says “If money no enter, I go do blood money o!” is widely understood as “If he (Olamide) doesn’t make money, he would opt for money rituals”.
Some fans have expressed dissatisfaction, saying the rappers displayed insensitivity for making a mockery of victims of the money rituals, particularly the recent stealing of ladies underwears for rituals.
The YBNL CEO, in recent times, has received criticism over some songs like ‘science student’, which was perceived to have promoted drug abuse and now the newly released ‘Logo Benz’.
However, in an attempt to exonerate himself, Olamide via his twitter handle said the song aims to show a fraction of the things unscrupulous individuals do to attain high-class levels in the society.
His tweet read:
