Popular Nollywood star turned Lagos Politician, Hon. Desmond Elliot on Tuesday visited the Lagos state National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos state. The member of the Lagos State House of Assembly was received by the Camp Coordinator and Commandant.
Speaking with the NYSC Batch B, Stream 1 Corps Members posted to the state, Hon. Desmond congratulated them on their successful graduation and mobilization and welcomed them to the state of excellence.
He charged the Corps members to maximize their short stay in Lagos by adding value to the community where they will be posted to. He also called on them to develop themselves by acquiring skills.
Desmond bewailed that the over dependence on white collar jobs was affecting the nation since government cannot create jobs for all the youths. He admonished them to start small scale businesses to carter for themselves.
He assured them of the state government’s commitment to their welfare and cautioned them to eschew violence, drugs and all forms of criminality.
