RUGA SETTLEMENTS: THE POLITICAL MYOPIA OF THE SOUTH by Frank Eze

One of the security challenges that have continued to plague the country is the recurring violent clashes between pastoralists and farmers. The situation which is predominant in most states including Zamfara, Benue, Plateau, Imo, AbiaTarabaSokoto and Adamawa among others has led to the loss of lives and properties worth billions of Naira.

Political maturity in saner climes requires leaders to offer political solutions to issues confronting the country and support the government's quest to improve the living standard of the populace. The case is different in Nigeria where past leaders, not favourably disposed to the government of the day constitute themselves into opposition in order to "PULL HIM DOWN".
