U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is due to travel to war-torn South Sudan on Wednesday to meet with the country’s President Salva Kiir – and she is angry.

After visiting South Sudanese refugees in Gambella, western Ethiopia on Tuesday and hearing of the brutal violence they fled, Haley asked a small group of reporters: “How can the international community allow this to go on?”

Morocco’s King Mohammed IV dismissed the ministers of education, planning and housing and health, as well as other officials, after an economic agency found “imbalances” in implementing a development plan, state news agency MAP reported, citing a palace statement. Morocco’s king dismissed the ministers and top officials “for failing to improve the economic situation in a region” amid protests.

Kenya's chief prosecutor has ordered that opposition leader Raila Odinga's sister, Ruth Odinga, should immediately be charged with inciting violence against the election commission.

Ms Odinga, a former deputy governor of Kisumu State, has not yet commented.
