House of Assembly Passes Bill To Prohibit Media Parades of Suspects

The Lagos State House of Assembly has passed a bill that prohibits the media parade of suspects by the police. This bill is an amendment to the Criminal Justice Law of the State. Several lawyers, human rights activists and civil society organisations have called for an end to media parade for suspects saying it does not protect the human rights of suspects.

Sunday Igboho Insists On Yoruba Nation Rally Despite DSS Raid

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has said the Yoruba Nation rally scheduled to hold on Saturday in Lagos will take place as planned despite the raid on his residence by personnel of the Department of States Services (DSS). However, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has warned Igboho and other organizers against carrying out any rally in Lagos.

Alleged Fraud: ICPC TO Arraign Ex-JAMB Registrar, Ojerinde July 6

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has disclosed that on July 6, the former Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Adedibu Ojerinde, would be arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja regarding his involvement in an alleged N900 million fraud.
