Quack Surgeon Kills Over 15 Patients in Adamawa State

Reports indicate the arrest of a quack doctor employed by Adamawa State Government who was alleged to have caused the death of Over 15 patients. The doctor named Ibrahim Mustapha whose only academic qualification is National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) certificate was said to have performed several surgeries in the last five years he had worked at cottage hospitals in Mayo-Belwa and Fufore Local Government Areas of the State.

 

He was alleged to have used fake medical certificates to secure the employment with the state government.

A reliable source confirmed that the suspect had been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Yola.

The suspect is in custody of the secret police in Yola and he may be paraded or arraign before a court of competent jurisdiction in the nearest future.

Lamenting on the incident on 19th June 2019 at an interactive session with officials of Adamawa state Hospitals Management Board, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, expressed concern over the incident.

"I am highly disturbed by this unhealthy development that led to the death of about 15 persons.

No, this Government will not take it lightly; whoever is involved must face the wrath of the law.

This is wickedness and Government will not condone it”.

At the end of the session, the Governor promised to set up a committee that would sanitize the health sector in the State.
