NDLEA Advises Tertiary Institutions To Conduct Drug Tests On Students

The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd) has advised all tertiary institutions across the country to make drug tests mandatory for new and returning students as part of efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse among Nigerian youths.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the postponement of the commencement of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration by one week.

Senate Approves 6 New Law Schools Across Geo-Political Zones

The Senate has on Tuesday approved the establishment of six new additional campuses of the Nigerian Law School across the six geo-political zones of the country. The newly approved law schools in addition to the seven existing ones will bring the total number of law schools in the country to 13, excluding the Bwari campus in the Federal Capital Territory. The approval followed consideration of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele who also serves as leader of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters on the Legal Education Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
