NECO Postponse 2020 Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (External) To February 8

The National Examination Council (NECO) on Tuesday January 26, announced a new date for commencement of its 2020 Senior Schools Certificate Examinations, SSCE (external). NECO spokesman Azeez Sani, in a statement, said the board has moved the examination scheduled to commence on February 1, 2021, to Monday, February 8, 2021, and end on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. NECO says the new date was set in response to requests by candidates to be given time to complete their registration process for the 2020 SSCE External. The examinations were previously scheduled to commence on February 1 and end on March, 3.

FEC Approves New Retirement Age For Teachers

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has on Wednesday approved the bill proposing the extension for the retirement age of Nigerian teachers from 60 to 65 years. Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu made the disclosure while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The approved bill; Harmonized Retirement Age for Teachers Bill, 2021 is to be sent to the National Assembly for consideration and subsequent approval.
