Proceeds of Crime: FG Recovers Over N120Bn

The Federal Government (FG) stated that it had recovered over N120 billion from the proceeds of crime, following the implementation of the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act (POCA), 2022 which was signed by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 12, 2022, along with the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Bill, 2022 and the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Bill, 2022. This was disclosed on Wednesday in Abuja by Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture during the 8th edition of the ‘PMB Administration Scorecard Series (2015-2023).

Police Extricate Three Abuja Kidnap Victims

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has revealed the disentanglement of three victims from their abductors, following the attack and abduction of some individuals by suspected bandits in Arab Road Extension 2, Kubwa district of Abuja in the late hours of 6th December 2022.
FCT Police spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, who confirmed these in a statement on Wednesday, said: “Preliminary investigations however revealed that at about 1930hrs (7:30 pm) of December 6, 2022, some armed criminals came into the Kubwa Relocation Estate, shot two victims, one Oshodi and another Abdulwahab (both other names unknown).

Abuja-Kaduna Train Services: IGP Deploys IEDs Sniffer Dogs, Others

Ahead of the resumption of the Abuja-Kaduna train services scheduled for Monday, December 5, 2022 (today), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has ordered the immediate deployment of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) sniffer dogs, armed personnel from the Police Mobile Force, Force Intelligence Bureau and others, in a bid to effectively secure the operations of the train services. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Muyiwa Adejobi.
