FG Inaugurates EFCC Governing Board

The Federal Government (FG) has inaugurated the governing board of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha performed the inauguration on behalf of the federal government on Thursday in Abuja.

Three Dead, Several Injured After Church Building Collapse In Delta State.

The Police in Delta State have confirmed that three persons including two children have died after a storey building collapsed at Okpanam road, Asaba the state capital. The church Salvation Ministries were having their evening service on Tuesday, when the incident occurred. Police spokesperson DSP Bright Edafe, said as at yesterday night when the incident happened, 18 persons have been rescued out of the building and three people are critically injured but as at Wednesday morning three persons where confirmed dead.

CDS Irabor: Armed Forces Will Give Bandits The Bloody Nose They Desire

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, has expressed his pleasure at the recent gazette of the court ruling which declared bandits as terrorists. Irabor stressed that the development would allow the armed forces to give the bandits “the bloody nose they desire.”

Nigerian Army Redeploys GOCs, Senior Officers In Major Shake-up

The Nigerian Army has announced the appointment of General Officers Commanding (GOCs) and other senior Field Commanders in a bid to reorganize the Army. The Director, Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu made the announcement in a released statement, saying the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya approved the posting on Tuesday. The redeployment of senior officers in the Army comes a week after Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reshuffled its Generals. 

EFCC Recovers N152Bn, $386Mn, £1.1Mn, Others In 2021

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it had recovered the sums of N152,088,698,751.64, $386,220,202.84, £1,1182,519.75, €156,246.761, 723,310.00 Saudi Riyal, 1,900.00 South African Rands, and 1,400 Canadian Dollars between the period of January and December 2021.
