Boko Haram: Buratai Commends Troops Over Marte Success

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai has on Sunday commended the personnel of the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole for the success in toppling Boko Haram terrorists in Marte, Borno State. In a statement, issued by Brig.-Gen. Sagir Musa, Director, Army Public Relations in Abuja. According to Musa, the terrorists were dislodged on Saturday when the troops successfully laid an ambush against them while they tried to attack the troops of Operation Tura Takaibango at the outskirts of the Marte area.

Musa said the Air Task Force played a decisive role in the destruction of seven terrorists' gun trucks during the operation, decimating an unconfirmed number of the insurgents.


“The Chief of Army Staff hereby appreciates and commends the troops, especially the Air Task Force Operation Lafiya Dole for their heroic and patriotic actions which resulted in the successes recorded.


“He urged them to maintain the momentum and expedite actions to ensure speedy final defeat of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Nigeria,” he said.
