Leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the south-east have endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term. Speaking with state house correspondents on Monday, Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology, who led a delegation to Buhari, said the president has done enough to merit a second time.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar has expressed apprehension that the increasing killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen could get out of hand if urgent steps are not taken by security agencies to curb their menace. The Sultan stated this on Thursday in Abuja at the 1st General Assembly of Inter-faith Dialogue forum with the theme, ‘Living together, achieving together.’

The House of Representatives passed the yesterday, passed the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill, PIGB, which provides for the governance and institutional framework for the oil and gas industry and for other related matters, after third reading.

Dangote Group of Companies has donated N50 million to Nasarawa State Government, to provide more assistance to victims of the recent herdsmen attacks on border communities of Benue and Nasarawa states. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, announced the donation when he visited Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura at the Government House, Lafia, yesterday, to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the unfortunate incident.

The Federal government says it is desirous to wind down its Presidential Amnesty Programme in the Niger Delta region. The Special Adviser to the president on Niger Delta and Coordinator Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (rtd) revealed this in Abuja Wednesday, after a meeting with stakeholders to analyse the success of the programme.

The Federal Government has appealed to the Supreme Court to restore all the 18 false assets declaration and other related charges instituted against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, but which were dismissed by the Code of Conduct Tribunal in June 2017.
