The Senator Representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu says the Peoples Democratic Party will be rendered irrelevant in the South West if stakeholders gang up to deny the region the opportunity to produce the National Chairman of the party at Saturday's National Convention.

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed three bills recently passed by the National Assembly. They are the National Intelligence Agency Pensions (Establishment Act), the Air Force Institute of Technology of Nigeria (Establishment Act) and the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy (Establishment Act.)

A former Zamfara state governor Ahmad Sani Yerima, was on Tuesday discharged by a High Court in Gusau, It will be recalled that Yerima was in January 2016 charged before Justice Bello Shinkafi of High Court 4, in Gusau, the state capital, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The commission accused him of diverting part of N1 billion project funds for other purposes.

The Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday visited Numan in Adamawa state, over reported clashes between farmers and herdsmen. At least two people were said to have died following the attacks on Monday allegedly carried out by herdsmen. The chairman of neighbouring Numan Local government Area who confirmed the attack explained that the attackers set people’s homes ablaze.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has warned the party of impending mass defection. Franks who issued the warning in as statement released to newsmen on Monday said PDP elements who had joined the APC before the general elections have now realized that the party has no regards for internal democracy.
