The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha is set to unveil 10 additional statues in the state, few weeks after the state organized massive ceremony to unveil the statues of the Presidents of South Africa and Liberia. Although the statue rain in the state has been roundly condemned by majority of Nigerians, the Governor remains undeterred.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Bola Tinubu says the current administration is yet to win the war against corruption. The former Governor of Lagos state stated this on Thursday during the presentation of a book titled "Making Steady, Sustainable Progress" written by the Presidential Media Team. The Governorship aspirant of Democratic People's Congress (DPC), Yul Edochie has debunked reports that he has stepped down from the governorship election and defected to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). The son of veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie who stated this on Saturday morning appealed to his supporters to disregard the reports. He explained that the report may have been planted by the opposition to deceive his supporters knowing how popular he is in the state.

South East Will ‘Benefit Tremendously’ From 2018 Budget – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the people of the South East that the region will benefit tremendously from the 2018 budget, especially in the area of infrastructure. President Buhari gave the assurance on Wednesday in Awka, the Anambra State capital during a two-day working visit to the region.

The Nigerian Navy has contracted a local firm, Epenal to manufacture patrol and gun boats to assist the agency effectively man the nation's water way especially in the wake of renewed hostility in the Niger Delta region. The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas made the disclosure on Tuesday in Calabar, the Cross River state capital. He hinted that the Navy recently took delivery of 16 such boats adding that the boats were among the 20 that were recently commissioned in Delta state.
