Four Aspirants To Step Down For Uba Ahead Of Anambra APC Primaries

Indications have emerged that four governorship aspirants in the All Progressives Congress, APC, would step down for Senator Andy Uba before the primaries.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday held a crucial meeting with Service Chiefs at his residence. The meeting was held a day after the President charged security agencies in his address to redouble efforts toward ensuring that the unity of the country was protected. The Chief of Defence Staff, Abayomi Olonisakin who briefed State House correspondents after the meeting hinted that the issues of Boko Haram, agitation by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as well as other security challenges confronting the nation were discussed.

Saudi Arabia Apologises To Nigeria Over Maltreatment Of Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia has apologized to the Nigerian Government over an alleged maltreatment of two pilgrims by its security agents in Medina. The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mohammad Albijawi, gave the apology on behalf of the Royal leaders of the Kingdom when he visited the victims at Wefada Al Zahra Hotel on Al Salam Street Markazziya, in Medina.

The Police Service Commission, PSC, has approved the promotion of 6,455 senior police officers contained in a recommendation from the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim. The commission is saddled with the responsibility of promoting senior officers amongst other functions.

The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) has cautioned the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on his unpatriotic call on President Muhammadu Buhari “to resign and go home” as well his other vitriolic attacks on his person.

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted a letter to the National Assembly notifying the Senate of his resumption after spending 104 days in the United Kingdom for a medical vacation. The Senate President is presently on vacation in the UK as of Monday, acknowledged receipt of the letter on his Facebook wall some hours ago.
