President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is seeking the Senate’s confirmation of the appointment and reappointment of some members of the governing board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC). The President’s request was contained in a letter which was read during plenary on Wednesday by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Nominees for appointment are: the Chairman, General Paul Tarfa, (North-East, Adamawa State); Managing Director, Mohammed Goni Alkali (North-East, Borno State) while members are; Hon. Gambo Maikyau (North-East, Taraba State); Abdullahi Abbas (North-West, Kano State); Zaf Ondora, (North-Central, Benue State), Frank Achinike Owo, (South-South, Rivers State); Mutiu Lawal Areh, (South-West, Lagos State); Samuel Ifeanyi Onuigbo (South-East, Abia State).
Others for re-appointment are Executive Directors of Admin and Finance, Dr Abubakar Ileah (North-East, Yobe State); Humanitarian Affairs, Musa Yashi (North-East, Bauchi State); and Operations, Ahmed Abdulsalam Yahaya (North-East, Gombe State).
