The All Progressives Congress (APC) won Kaduna North local government, Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s council with a landslide.
Mr Saleh Shu’aibu, APC chairmanship candidate, is the beneficiary of the resounding vote of confidence the voters passed in the governor.
Announcing the results of the polls, the local government election returning officer, Umar Hayatu said the APC has won with total of 168,572 votes, more than 10 times the votes won by his closest opponent.
APC Takes Early Lead In Kaduna LGs Poll
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 10 local government areas in the ongoing council polls in Kaduna state, NAN reports.
The APC secured the most votes in Soba, Zaria, Lere, Ikara, Makarfi, Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Kagarko, Kudan, Igabi and Kajuru local councils.
In Zaria, APC polled 42,859 votes, while PDP got 16,033. In Soba, APC got 40,903, while PDP scored 13,835.
President Buhari Returns From London Trip
President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the country on Friday, from his London trip, where he went to undergo medical checkup with his doctors.
Vigil360 correspondent gathered that, the presidential jet conveying the President touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, about 7.00 p.m.
Mr President was received at the airport by the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, among other top government officials.
