APC Takes Early Lead In Kaduna LGs Poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 10 local government areas in the ongoing council polls in Kaduna state, NAN reports.

The APC secured the most votes in Soba, Zaria, Lere, Ikara, Makarfi, Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Kagarko, Kudan, Igabi and Kajuru local councils.

In Zaria, APC polled 42,859 votes, while PDP got 16,033. In Soba, APC got 40,903, while PDP scored 13,835.

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the country on Friday, from his London trip, where he went to undergo medical checkup with his doctors.

Vigil360 correspondent gathered that, the presidential jet conveying the President touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, about 7.00 p.m.

Mr President was received at the airport by the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, among other top government officials.

Acting Director, Communications Department of the CBN, Mr Isaac Okorafor, has stated that the apex bank was aware of the development concerning lamentation from Nigerians on the high level of mutilated notes in the country, adding that the bank had taken several measures to addressing the rising incidence of mutilated notes in the country.

He accused the IGP of seeking to confuse issues or play on the intelligence of members of the public with his diversionary statement or claims

“We noted the response issued by one Jimoh Moshood on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris following yesterday’s resolution of the legislative chamber on the continued refusal of the IGP to honour the invitation for him to come and explain what the police are doing to halt the spate of killings across the country.
