The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, on Monday inaugurated what he described as the upgraded website of his office.

Speaking at a brief event in his office in Abuja, Mustapha put the cost of the upgrading, which he said included procurement of laptops, training of officials and consultancy services, at N64m.

The Federal Government had allocated N65m for the project in the 2017 Budget.

Former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh has collapsed during his resumed trial in an Abuja High Court on Monday.

He was trying to make his way to the dock when he suddenly collapsed.

The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, asked the court officials to explain what happened. The officials informed the court that when the case was called, Metuh was making his way to the dock when they all heard a loud noise and noticed the defendant on the floor.

The trial judge continued with the trial even though Metuh was still on the floor.

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has appealed to Nigerians to asked God to end the repeated killings in the country. Senator Saraki made the appeal in a Facebook post on Thursday while extending his greetings to Muslims in Nigeria as they begin the 30-day Ramadan fast.

Governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that John Oyegun, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), cried when the party lost the 2015 governorship election in Rivers state.

The Governor said this on Monday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, when he appeared on Channels Television.

He, however, denied a statement credited to him that he was against President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state.

Presidential Spokesman Garba Shehu says the Buhari government is bad business for a number of parliamentarians, civil servants and security agents. Shehu said corrupt politicians, public officers, policemen, Customs and Immigration officials who hitherto benefited from corrupt practices during previous administrations were uncomfortable with the Buhari administration.

The Nigerian Army on Friday said allegations against it by retired Gen. T.Y Danjuma that it colluded with the militia in Taraba and refused to protect the people were untrue.  The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, made this known at a news conference in Abuja where he gave details of the findings of the 10-member panel the Army constituted to probe the allegations.
