Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Sunday reversed the dissolution of the State Executive Council and the 21 local government Caretaker Committees minutes after issuing the directive. It was gathered that shortly after he gave this order, he made a U-turn about 10 minutes later, asking the affected officials to continue their work.

The remains of Aliyu Akwe-Doma, former Governor of Nasarawa State, on Saturday arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 11:15 p.m. According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the remains were transported in a Turkey Airline. The report added that the body was received at the airport by a delegation of the state government comprising commissioners, special advisers and interim management committee chairmen.

Mr Abubakar Madaki, a prosecution witness in the on-going trial of former Chairman, DAAR Communications Plc, Mr Raymond Dokpesi, told the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, that Dokpesi received money for rendering no services. Madaki, under cross-examination by Dokpesi’s counsel, Mr Kanu Agabi (SAN), said that:”Dokpesi was paid for doing nothing, for rendering no service. The witness said that the N2.1 billion, under investigation, was funds from the office of the National Security Adviser.

Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has said his administration was succeeding because it has resolved not to carry governance on the head, as it is not a matter of life and death. The Governor who was speaking on his experience so far as a governor said the office was challenging although he has enjoyed the experience so far.

Son-in-law and Chief of Staff to Governor Rochas Okorochas of Imo state, Uche Nwosu has said his father-in-law will not dictate to him how the affairs of the state should be managed when he becomes the governor in 2019. Nwosu who stated this in an interview on Saturday maintained that there was nothing wrong with Gov. Okorocha endorsing him as his successor, stressing that in the United States, the son of George Bush became president after the father had served in that capacity.

Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has restated his commitment to arrest the cycle of violence that has engulfed some states in the country. Speaking at a Town Hall meeting in Jos, Plateau State, in the course of his official visit to the state, President Buhari who also launched the Plateau State Roadmap to Peace, congratulated the Governor for uniting the people of the state.
