Ministerial List: President Tinubu Submits 19 Additional Nominees

Femi Gbajabiamila, The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has submitted to the Senate, 19 additional ministerial nominees for screening on Wednesday. President Tinubu’s request was contained in a letter read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio which stated that the President’s request is in line with Section 147 (2) of the 1999 Constitution.


In the additional list are 5 former governors, Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi State), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun State), Simon Lalong (Plateau State) and Bello Matawalle (Zamfara State).

Others are Ahmed Gwarzo, Bosun Tijani, Yusuf Sununu, Maryam Shetty, Tunji Alausa, Lola John, Isiak Salako, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Prof. Tahir Mamman, Alkali Saidu, Aliyu Abdullahi, Heineken Lokpobori, Maigari Ahmadu and Zephaniah Jisalo, who is the first Abuja indigene to be nominated for a ministerial position.

Recall that on July 27, President Tinubu submitted the first list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

The initial nominee list included former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; former governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, amongst others.
