The Court of Appeal has finally released the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Kano state governorship election judgment it delivered on 17th November 2023, in favor of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Gawuna. The CTC was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Salihu Tanko Yakasai, popularly known as Dawisu, the Kano state Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election. Dawisu is currently a chieftain of the APC and an ally of Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC national chairman.

He wrote on Tuesday evening, November 21, with accompanying documents: "The appeal court has distinguished the two cases; Peter Obi and that of Kano APC and NNPP. Pages 64 to 67 explain it with facts to back it up. Membership of a party can indeed be a pre-election issue AND a post-election one. I hope this will put that argument to rest."

Recall, that the leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has expressed its worries over the inability of the Court of Appeal to release the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Kano judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal on Friday, November 17, to its legal team four days after ruling.

In a statement on Monday by Abba Kawu Ali, NNPP Ag. National Chairman, the concern being expressed by the leadership of NNPP stems from the report from its legal team that all efforts to collect the CTC of the judgment which will aid the process of filing their appeal have not yielded any fruits, in four days after the judgment was delivered in Abuja.
