President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, December 18, 2017 travel to Niger Republic to attend the 59th proclamation of Republic of Niger ceremony in Tahoua, Niger Republic. The Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu stated this on his Twitter handle and Facebook page. He disclosed that the President would be accompanied on this visit by three state governors including Aminu Masari, Ibrahim Gaidam and Kashim Shettima of Katsina, Yobe and Borno states respectively.
Apart from President Buhari, the presidents of Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mauritania are billed to also participate in the historic event, held every December 18th to commemorate the founding of the Republic of Niger.
