Two of the five men charged with illegally importing 661 pump-action rifles into the country in a 40-ft container, on Monday asked to change their initial no guilty plea and instead enter into a plea bargain with the prosecution.

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated German Chancellor, Angela Merkel on her victory at the polls held on Sunday. The President in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina also wished the German Chancellor a successful tenure.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Sunday described University of Ilorin as a terrorist organization as far as industrial relations and the welfare of workers are concerned. The Lagos State Government on Monday donated 120 power generating sets to the state police command for its 107 divisions and 13 areas commands to enhance security operations.
