Popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has accused the National Assembly of attempting to sabotage the ongoing fight against corruption by the current administration. In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, Falana accused the lawmakers of deliberately refusing to pass a bill seeking the establishment of a special court for corruption cases.

The former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff has perfected plans to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his sack by the Supreme Court. At the time of filing this report, Sheriff was meeting with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun at the Presidential Villa to formerly declare his intention to return to the party.

Charles Oputa, popularly known by his stage name Charly Boy has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to douse rising tension across the country particularly in the South East. Charly Boy made the call in an open letter addressed to Mr. President. He exonerated the President from all the woes bedeviling the country but stated that it was now time for the President to turn things around, having spent two years on the saddle.

The United Labour Congress, ULC, has announced suspension of its strike for one week after a closed door meeting with the government on Tuesday.
