Charles Oputa, also known as Charlyboy, under the auspices of OurMumuDonDo movement stormed the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja, to demand the extradition of the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke from the United Kingdom to Nigeria to face charges on corruption allegations.
The ace-musician, alongside with his OurMumuDonDo protesters converged at the premises of the anti-graft agency displaying a banner with an inscription which read ‘Bring Back Diezani Alison-Madueke.’
The former Minister who served during the administration of ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, has been linked with several corruption cases in the Nigeria, United States and the U.K. over alleged fraud committed while she was in office.
Recall that in July, U.S. Department of Justice announced the filing of the forfeiture and recovery of approximately $144 million in assets that are allegedly the proceeds of foreign corruption offenses and were laundered in and through the U.S.
Similarly, UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) has frozen millions of pounds worth in property allegedly bought for Diezani Alison-Madueke even as all is now set for the trial of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources for corruption practices.
Several courts across the country have issued forfeiture orders of some properties and cash linked to the former minister brought before the it by the EFCC.
