New Selfies App Can Detect Early Signs Of Pancreatic Cancer

Scientists have developed a smartphone app that can detect early signs of pancreatic cancer using selfies. With a survival rate of just nine percent in last five years, pancreatic cancer is seen as one of the deadliest forms of cancers. It spreads quickly and by the time the first symptoms come into notice, it's too late to go for pre-emptive methods of treatment.

Facebook has gone down for many users, with thousands reporting they cannot access the popular social media site. Some users were told the website was undergoing "required maintenance" on Saturday afternoon as they attempted to log on. Most users reported a "total blackout", meaning the site would not load, or that they were unable to log in to their accounts. Most of the users reported the downtime about 2pm.

China is set to launch an app that allows anybody - not just the rich and famous - to hire a personal bodyguard.  The Jinyiwei app, which is set to launch in Qingdao in September, provides a Uber-like service and connects individuals and companies citywide with over 50,000 staff from 47 security companies.
