Musk Changes Twitter Logo

Elon Musk, the owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter said that the social media network would replace its bird logo with the name ‘X’. Musk made this known on Sunday in a tweet from his official page: “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make (it) go live worldwide tomorrow”.

FG Delists More Loan Apps, Vows Further Clampdown

The Federal Government (FG) through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has delisted 2 more loan apps from Google Play Store for harassing Nigerians. This was made known on Thursday in a statement signed by Babatunde Irukera, the Executive Vice Chairman, FCCPC, stating that it had updated its list of digital money lenders that failed or refused to register with the Commission.

Sonic The Hedgehog C0-Creator Naka Sentenced to 4-Year Probation & ¥170 in Fines

The former Square Enix and Sega developer Yuji Naka has now been sentenced to two years and six months in prison, with a probation period of four years. Following legal proceedings, he was convicted by the Tokyo District Court with additional two fines totaling over ¥170 million. However, if Naka does not adhere to these conditions, he can spend up to 2.5 years in prison. Naka was found guilty of insider trading by violating the Financial Instrument and Exchange Act. Naka will also have to pay a 2 million yen (US $14,000) fine as well as around 171 million (US$1.19million) in an additional penalty for the money he made through insider trading, making a total of 173 million yen (US$1.205 million) in fines.

Data Breach: NDPC Investigates Top Banks, Others

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has disclosed that it currently investigating 3 deposit money banks, one university, and several suspects over an alleged data breach. This was made known in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by Dr. Vincent Olatunji, National Commissioner of NDPC, stating that institutions under investigation are Fidelity, Guarantee Trust, Fidelity Banks, Babcock University, and Leadway Insurance, among others.
