President Buhari Writes To National Assembly, Requests Confirmation of New Service Chiefs

President Muhammadu Buhari has intimated the National Assembly seeking confirmation of the recently appointed Service Chiefs. Mr. President’s aide on National Matters (Senate), Babajide Omoworare, made this known in a statement on Friday. The former Senator said the letter, addressed to the President of the Senate, was dated January 27. The statement reads in part “President Muhammadu Buhari has communicated the appointment of the Service Chiefs to the National Assembly and has sought for the confirmation of the said appointment by the Senate through his letter to the Senate President dated 27th January 2021. This was done in furtherance of Section 18 (1) of the Armed Forces Act Cap. A.20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

President Buhari Charged New Service Chiefs To Serve With Patriotism And Diligence

President Muhammadu Buhari has today after meeting with the newly appointed service chiefs charged them to serve with patriotism and deliver well on their mandate. Presidential Spokesperson on media and publicity, Femi Adesina stated this on behalf of President Buhari, he quoted the President saying; “We’re in a state of emergency. Be patriotic; serve the country well, as your loyalty is to the country.” Buhari congratulated the newly appointed service chiefs for their new assignment saying; “There’s nothing I can tell you about the service because you are in it. I was also in it, and I will pray for you. I also assure you that whatever I can do as Commander-in-Chief will be done, so that the people will appreciate your efforts.
