Eid-ul-Maulud: FG Declares Tuesday Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 19, 2021, as public holiday to mark this year's Eid-ul-Maulud celebration in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. The declaration was made in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola on behalf of the FG, congratulated the Muslim faithful for witnessing this year's celebration. He urged Nigerians, particularly Muslims to refrain from violence, and other acts of criminality, enjoining them to imbibe the spirit of love, perseverance, and patience as the Holy Prophet.


Aregbesola called for peaceful coexistence and urged the public to embrace unity. He advised youths across the country against divisive tendencies, imploring them to be hardworking and peaceful towards others.


He said Nigerians should love each other irrespective of ideology, faith, social class, or ethnicity, and also cooperate with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in its efforts to build a progressive nation.
