The Aare Ona'kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams has cautioned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by Simon Ekpa, to halt its plans to enforcing Sit-At-Home protest in Lagos State. Adams warned that the south-west is not part of the Biafra Republic and as such, imposing Biafra agenda on people of other regions will not be tolerated.
He said, “I can’t go to the South East now and say I want to decide for the people of that region. So, it is not possible to import the South-East agenda into Yoruba-land. It would be counter-productive. We advise him (Ekpa) to drop that idea”.
Ekpa, on his tweeter page revealed plans to stage sit-at-home in Lagos state to further press home their demand on Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the IPOB agitators.
Vigil360 report that, Adams has advised the Finnish-based Nigerian to desist from “repeating the mistake of the 1970s, and drop the move”. Stating that, the plan protest in the south-west was uncalled for and counterproductive.
“He should not try that. The South West is not Biafra Republic. Any attempt to impose the Biafra Republic agenda will be resisted. He should desist from repeating the mistake of the 1970s. He should be very, very careful”.
