Akwa Ibom Gov Approves N1bn To Augment FG Palliatives 

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the immediate release of N1 billion to augment Federal Government’s palliatives, to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal. The governor also assured that the commencement of distribution of palliatives to residents of the State will start on Monday September 4, 2023. Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the governor announced the approval for the release of N2bn being the second tranche for the payment of gratuities to retired teachers in both state and local government service. Governor Eno while giving reasons for the gesture said it is a quick fix by the state government to ameliorate the sufferings of the people as a result of the hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal, while cautioning youths in the state against being used by persons to foment unrest.

Ganduje Hint On Merger With Opposition Parties

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that, a section of opposition political parties would soon merge with the ruling party.
