Some aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday announced the formation of a parallel party known as 'Fresh PDP'. The aggrieved 'former' members of the PDP who are ostensibly loyal to one of the chairmanship aspirants at the recently concluded National Convention are led by one Emmanuel Nwosu. The group while opening their secretariat in Asokoro, Abuja, called for the conduct of a fresh convention as the last one was marred by irregularities.
Briefing newsmen at the party’s secretariat located at Tito Broz street, off Jimmy Carter street, Asokoro, Nwosu said "the process leading to the emergence of the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee was fraught with illegality and abuse of electoral process."
He said the slogan of the new group is "Fresh PDP, PDP First"
