Government's Achievements In Agriculture Underreported

The President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, said that the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had recorded tremendous achievements in agriculture. He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday, that the feats of the party in agriculture were, however, not adequately reported. He berated some media houses for always making headlines with negative stories while ignoring such success stories.

There are indications that acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, may have resolved to withdraw the nominations of Maimuna Aliyu and Sa’ad Alanmu, to the board of agency, ICPC, following reports that both candidates are being investigated for corruption.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has set up a judicial commission to review the Armed Forces’ compliance with human rights obligations. Osinbajo took the action following concerns over alleged human rights violation by the Nigerian military.

Amidst recent concern raised by the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, that Fulani militia herdsmen from other parts of West Africa sub-region are planning to invade the State and wreck havoc, a man in his mid-forties was over the weekend, killed by unknown gunmen that invaded Atongo village in Katsina/Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

Gunmen on Sunday morning stormed the St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state, east of Nigeria. An eye witness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday that the gunmen went into the church during the 5:45 a.m. mass and identified a particular man and shot him.

The Department of State Services (DSS) is said to have placed under surveillance, some prominent figures who were recently nominated as ministers by the Biafra Zionist Federation (BZF).  The Biafra Zionist Federation (BZF) on 31st July, announced some prominent figures as members of an interim government for the Republic of Biafra.
