John McAfee, Antivirus Software Creator Found Dead In His Spanish Cell

US software pioneer, John McAfee, who is well known for his eponymous antivirus software McAfee has been found dead on Wednesday in his cell in Spain from an apparent suicide, McAfee’s lawyers revealed. According to a spokesperson of the Supreme Court of Catalonia. He was found by security personnel at the Brians 2 prison in northeast Spain. McAfee had been in Spanish custody since October on a June 2020 U.S. indictment in which he was charged with failing to file four years of tax returns while concealing assets. Then in March, he was indicted and accused of fraud and money laundering over his use of social media to promote cryptocurrencies, which prosecutors said generated $13 million in illicit gains for McAfee and a co-conspirator. In a statement, the Catalan justice department said that prison officers and medics attempted to save the life of the 75-year-old man after he was discovered but had been unsuccessful.

TWITTER BAN: PDP Lawmakers Threaten Legal Action Against Executive

Lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives have threatened legal action against the executive in the wake of the suspension of Twitter operations in the country. The caucus leader, Kingsley Chinda argued that the measures were a violation of the extant provisions of the law. Describing the measure as a violation of the doctrine of separation of powers, the lawmakers enjoined the Federal Government to reverse the decision in the overall interest of the country. “As expected, the announcement has sent shockwaves amongst believers in democracy and rule of law across Nigeria and the entire world. “We note with great concern that the suspension of Twitter by the Federal Government is one more step in attempts to restrict the fundamental rights of Nigerians, as enshrined in Chapter IV of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

Nigerians To Submit Phone IDs In July – NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that Nigerians will be required to submit the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of their phones to the commission from July 2021. The Commission made this known in its recently revised National Identity Policy for SIM Card Registration, saying the new policy is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive of implementing the Device Management System in three months. The IMEI is the 15-digit unique number on each mobile phone, showing the footprint of the phone. The number enables the phone to be tracked.
